161st Erin Fall Fair - Ontario's Preview to the Royal

The fair starts this Friday and our directors and volunteers have been hard at work all weekend getting things ready. The work will continue every day (and night) this week so that everything is ready when the gates open on Friday afternoon (the midway) and evening (the Exhibits Hall).

If you watch CTV News at 6pm, you may have seen recently video clips sent in by Port Hope, Lindsay and Markham Fall Fairs inviting weatherman Tom Brown to report the weather from their fairs. We shot our video yesterday and have invited Tom to join us on Friday evening to do the weather from our fair. We'll keep you posted as to whether he accepts our invitation.

Our secretary, Eileen Brown, will be in the office starting Tuesday October 4th handling inquiries and all the other things that come with being a fall fair secretary. We appreciate her hard work throughout the year, and especially at fair time.

2011 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Erin Fall Fair Queen/Ambassador Competition. Fair Queens and Ambassadors from the past 40 years will be present as our 2011 Ambassador is chosen on Friday night in the Exhibits Hall.
